In order to further improve the safety and legal awareness of international students in our university and to meet the educational and administrative requirements of our university, a legal and safety education meeting was held for international students in Classroom 201 of Building 5 on July 15, 2021. Our university invited Guo Ning, Section Chief of the Entry and Exit Administration Bureau of Jinzhou Public Security Bureau, Li Xiang, Deputy Section Chief of the Entry and Exit Administration Bureau of Jinzhou Public Security Bureau, Li Li, Police Officer of the Entry and Exit Administration Bureau of Jinzhou Public Security Bureau, Leng Bai, Captain of the Traffic Police Brigade of Linghe District, Men Kuo, Police Officer of the Traffic Police Brigade of Linghe District, Fu Chunxiao, Deputy Director of the Security Department of our university to give lectures. Shang Dayou, Director of the Security Department, Wang Wenli, Dean of the School of International Education, Yan Peng, Vice Dean of the School of International  Education, counselors of all grades and more than 100 international students in Jinzhou attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Fan Xu, Vice Dean of the School of International Education.

    The meeting was divided into four themes according to educational purposes: compliance with traffic regulations, safe and civilized travel; common problems such as handling residence permit of study type and temporary residence registration; precautions against telecommunications fraud, illegal loans, fire prevention and theft prevention; international students’ personal safety and campus safety awareness.

    Police Officer Men Kuo explained the precautions for civilized travel to international students from three aspects: general road traffic signs and markings, safety precautions for driving electric bicycles and motorcycles, campus road driving and other safety precautions. The international students studied   China ’s traffic safety laws and regulations carefully and interacted with the police officer on the stage. Deputy Section Chief Li Xiang made a detailed interpretation of residence permit of study type and temporary residence registration from the perspective of entry and exit laws and regulations. Police Officer Li Li explained the issues concerned by international students, such as telecommunications fraud, illegal loans, drugs and safety, and safe travel. Fu Chunxiao, Deputy Director of the Security Department of our university, made a fire safety education for the students, interpreted the fire safety knowledge vividly by means of case explanation and video introduction, and hoped the students could enhance their safety awareness.  

    International Education School brought safety education lectures to international students through laws and regulations, actual case introduction, real scene simulation and other forms. The meeting would be helpful for them to understand Chinese laws and regulations comprehensively and to improve their awareness of safety protection.
